Hi, my name is Grace, and I am proud to be the founder and president of Freeze the Fight! Cold capping is very personal to me. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2024 at the age of 24. I spent the next several months undergoing treatments and surgeries. I decided to use cold cap therapy while undergoing my chemotherapy regimen to prevent the total hair loss I was expected to endure. Cold capping was very beneficial for me. I was able to keep the majority of my hair while still maintaining my confidence and a small sense of normalcy during such a trying time in my life. My hair has always been important to me. I associated it with my identity and a sense of self-expression. My hair (and my faith) is something that I knew I could not let cancer take from me.
I noticed the gap in financial assistance for cold capping whenever my insurance would not cover the cost. This led me to seek financial assistance from nonprofits, where I discovered that I did not qualify because I did not fall below the βfederal poverty line.β Cancer is already financially burdensome enough. Adding the cost of cold capping on top of that really caused a strain on my finances, in addition to the emotional stress I was already facing. That is when I decided that I wanted to help others with the same problem. Thus, Freeze the Fight was born.
I thank God every day that I am alive, healthy, and that I have the opportunity to help others. I look forward to helping and supporting those who have to go through a similar journey!

Hi there! My name is Marissa Cummings. I reside in Heltonville, Indiana, with my wonderful husband of four years, Landon. Together we attend Mundell Christian Church, where Landon grew up. I am blessed with the honor of leading a weekly womenβs Bible study group called Set Apart, where I am passionate about gathering together to encourage one another and grow together in faith.
Professionally, I have served as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer at Bloomington Hospital for the past five years. In my role, I have the privilege of closely monitoring patients undergoing chemotherapy, ensuring their heart function remains stable before, during, and after treatment. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, attentive care. Itβs an incredible privilege to support patients and their families during such a vulnerable time, and I never take that responsibility lightly.
I look forward to getting to know you and serve you or your loved one with both clinical excellence and heartfelt, genuine support every step of the way.

As a hairstylist, Iβve spent my career witnessing how deeply hair is tied to identity, confidence, and self-expression. Hair is never βjust hairβ β it holds stories, strength, and a sense of normalcy during lifeβs biggest moments.
My passion for cold capping advocacy is personal. My mother is a cancer survivor who faced treatment with incredible courage and strength. At the time, she wasnβt told that cold capping was an option. Watching her experience hair loss during chemotherapy showed me firsthand how overwhelming that part of the journey can be.
Cold capping gives patients a choice β the ability to decide who to tell and when, and the chance to move through the world without being immediately defined by a diagnosis. Advocating for cold capping allows me to connect my profession with my personal story. Every patient deserves access to options that support not only survival, but their sense of self.

Hi, Iβm Lynnsie, and Iβm honored to serve as a board member for this incredible organization. Iβm a wife and mama to a sweet six-year-old girl, with another little one on the way. Professionally, I work as an event planner for a nonprofit that supports homeless women and children, and serving others has always been at the heart of who I am.
Cancer has impacted my life in a deeply personal way. Five years ago, I suddenly lost my papaw β my best friend β after he battled three different kinds of cancer. That loss was incredibly traumatic and forever changed me. Itβs one of the reasons this mission means so much to my heart. Supporting individuals walking through cancer, and helping provide resources like cold capping that preserve dignity and confidence during treatment, is something I feel truly called to do.
I am passionate about loving people well, growing in my faith, and living for Jesus every day. Being part of this organization allows me to turn my pain into purpose and help bring hope to others in the midst of their fight.
